another over obsessive fan
so I’ve been working on a Twilight charm bracelet. I was just going to replicate Bella’s’ bracelet (as she described it in Eclipse), the one with a diamond heart and wooden wolf, but I decided that I wanted to represent more of Edward than Jacob (tee hee) so I left out the wolf charm. it’s a work in progress so I’ll be posting more pictures as I get in the materials.

it’s lacking color (just like Edward) but I plan on adding some red gems as soon as I can get them.
UPDATE: so I rearranged a few charms and added some topaz colored beads (the color of Edward’s eyes after the hunt). not quite sure if I’m happy with it though, but then again, I’m not done.

road island pterodactyl
everything is funnier when you’re drunk they say. I never wanted to be a believer of this statement because I’m not the type that needs a drink to have a good time. but this past weekend the husband and I were having a few drinks while watching King Kong when it hit me.
me: do you think King Kong has sex? but I don’t think there are any other giant apes on that island…
(thoughtful silence, the husband looks at me funny)
me: maybe he fucks the dinosaurs. you know, T-Rex, brontosaurus. maybe a pterodactyl every now and then.
(the husband starts to bust out laughing)
husband: I just had a mental image in my head…I just pictured King Kong fucking a pterodactyl and a T-Rex driving up in an old Cadillac convertible saying “hey, is that a rhode island pterodactyl??”
and that is when we couldn’t stop laughing, even when the thought of a hernia popped into my head.
if you couldn’t tell, Devils’ Rejects is one of our favourite movies. of course while I am typing this down it’s not half as funny as it was that night, and I’m thinking why the hell am I even typing this down? but watch this is you don’t even have a clue of what I’m talking about.

Harry Potter
I finished the seventh and last Harry Potter book last night. I must say, it was a rather good read. and I will admit, I did shed a tear or two. I started on the sixth book last night also, The Half-Blood Prince. I’m going through this book pretty quick (well quicker than I did the seventh book) and I’m curious what happened in the fifth book. if you can not tell I’m reading the series backwards, I find it more amusing this way.
for those intrested, a list of harry potter related music/bands:
oh and I just got word from me mum that I will be driving a 2002 Nissan Altima now, my first car with air conditioning! yay!

Kobayashi steps down, a sad day indeed
did anyone catch the 2007 Nathans Hot Dog eating contest yesterday? now I’m not the one for sporting events (is this even a sport?) but I actually sat through this on ESPN last night. not just the 2007 event, but also the 2006 event! I tell you that skinny little Japanese kid, Takeru Kobayashi, can do some serious chowing down. but tis a shame that he lost his title of World Champ this year to Joey Chestnut. 66 hot dogs! 66! I love how the commentator says “this may be the greatest moment in the history of American sports.” you know…he just might be right.
Sonya Thomas, one of the MLE (Major League Eaters) was also pretty impressive. She was named 2003 Rookie of the Year and given the nickname “The Black Widow” for her merciless crushing of men twice her size. check out her credentials:
