a trip
the family and I took a trip to Savannah Georgia last week. not for pleasure tho, the husband had a Georgia Science Teacher conference and I was…well, just there to get away from the city for a while. and of course little Ian was there too along with my mother who was acting as a full time nanny, I love that woman. we got to do lots of things that we haven’t the chance to do in a while, like bar hoping. oh how fun it was to go from bar to bar drinking all we could hold and not worry about who was driving home. our hotel was only one block away from the tourist trap known as River Street. but of course we kept to our budget and drank only the finest pints of PBRs . in Savannah you were allowed to carry your drinks onto the streets (unlike Atlanta) so we sat there, on the docks watching the boats pass along the river. it was gorgeous. we also went on a ghost tour (it was free, yay) and it was very interesting listening to the stories of old Savannah. one particular stuck with me. Rene. Rene was a child with mental problems who was often picked on by the neighborhood children. well he got back at them by killing their dogs. long story short, he was hung on wrongful accounts and he haunts the cemetery in which he was buried. we also made a trip to the shore, Ian’s first time at the beach actually. it was too cold (75F) to go swimming so we walked along the beach gathering seashells. he was so terrified of the ocean, mainly because it was so large and cold. all in all, it was a very fun trip for all of us. and it just gets us more anxious for our trip to Key West in June.

another over obsessive fan
so I’ve been working on a Twilight charm bracelet. I was just going to replicate Bella’s’ bracelet (as she described it in Eclipse), the one with a diamond heart and wooden wolf, but I decided that I wanted to represent more of Edward than Jacob (tee hee) so I left out the wolf charm. it’s a work in progress so I’ll be posting more pictures as I get in the materials.

it’s lacking color (just like Edward) but I plan on adding some red gems as soon as I can get them.
UPDATE: so I rearranged a few charms and added some topaz colored beads (the color of Edward’s eyes after the hunt). not quite sure if I’m happy with it though, but then again, I’m not done.

returning
I’ve been away from here for a while. not because I had nothing to say or to complain about (as most bloggers tend to do). I just….took a break from the internet. I got tired of sitting in front of the screen, squinting my eyes, slowly blinding myself. instead I have been squinting my eyes in front of books in stead. nothing interesting though, so I won’t go into detail about them.
instead I’ll go into detail about my future. I’m getting married soon, a June bride I will be. invites will be mailed out as soon as we set a date. it’s nothing big, nothing fancy. just a few friends and family on the beach. family, minus my dad. as much as I would love to have him there, it would just be impossible to have in the same state, let alone the same beach as my mother’s new boyfriend. I’m in search of a vintage wedding dress. something light, airy, and off white. if you know where I can obtain one for cheap let me know.
*sigh* I must get ready for work now. I suppose they would appreciate it if I showed up on time and looking decent. until next time….

They Steal Your Underpants…
so I did it, I got my Harry Potter tattoo. and oh what a journey it was…okay not really. it just seemed like a journey because it took forever. we arrived at the first shop on the north side of town because we wanted this guy named Mikey to do our tats. well it turned out that Mikey no longer works there, he is now running another tattoo shop on the south side of town. so we sat in traffic for an hour on empty stomachs because we haven’t eaten since…oh yeah we didn’t eat that day. an hour later, we arrived. after talking to Mikey about The Husband’s geeky organic chemistry themed leg sleeve, Mikey set an appointment for him on Saturday. it’s going to be an all day ordeal but it’s going to be SO AWESOME. but anyways, back to my tattoo…I told him what I wanted and he said that he couldn’t fit that sentence (“I believe in Nargles”) on one foot unless the letters were tiny and he said that he didn’t want to do tiny letters because after time the lines will bleed in together and it will look like a blob. so he said that if I wanted it on one foot he would design me something where the words would stack on top of each other. so after a few beers at the bar next door I go back to check out his work. it took a little over an hour to do, and it hurt like heck (but as long as I was watching his every move it didn’t hurt so much), here it is.

so yeah, my big fat swollen foot. and btw, that is a radish in the middle. I had to explain to my mom that it was not a retarded dwarf carrot…

I celebrate with food
This past Saturday was my Birthday, the big 2-4! and guess how I celebrated it…with food! for lunch I had this ginormous reuben sandwich that was stacked higher than my mouth could stretch. with a cup of french onion soup…you know, we all need some veggies every now and then. after lunch the Husband insisted that I have a birthday cake, I’m not really into sweets so I told him it was no big deal. well Mr. husband made a trip to a Spanish bakery called “La Suprema” and bought this huge milk cake with a strawberry center and it was topped off with fruits. it was mucho delicioso! not too sweet and the milk made the cake so moist and yummy. I was very pleased
for dinner, we decided to try some place new to us. we live right off of Buford HWY, a food addicts heaven (especially if you’re into Asian and Hispanic food) and we have driven past this sushi bar plenty of times. it has a picture of a great big puffer fish on the sign but I have never bothered to find out the name. well I chose to go in and omg it was the most amazing sushi I had ever had! their specialty was puffer fish but I was too much of a wuss to try it
I had mackerel nigiri (my absolute favourite), salmon skin maki, and ebi nigiri. after a bottle of sake and a plate of sushi (along with seaweed salad, a house salad and miso soup) I was too stuffed to eat anymore, but there was so much on the menu that I wanted to try. oh, by the way the place was called Kang Nam and I highly recommend it. the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was…cute ^_^. yes, that’s the word I want to use.
but all in all, my big 2-4 was wonderfully spent with the ones I love most. my husband, son and my family…oh, and food

a few random thoughts
last night I dreamt that I was Batman, but a female version. and my best friend was Anna Kournikova who lived in a huge mansion…but was too poor to pay her electric bill.
I finally watched Transformers the other day. it was AMAZING! now I’m pissed at the fact that I don’t have an HD TV. because I’m sure it would have been more awesome viewed on an HD TV.
my birthday is on Saturday. am I excited? well hell yes! I’m going out for dinner, I’m always excited about food. the Husband bought me a new phone. a Nokia Music express. it’s pretty darn awesome. I never have to download ring tones ever again! my only problem…now I have way too many MP3 players.
that new cereal I was so excited about eating, Just Bunches from the makers of Honey Bunches of Oats, not so good
until next time…

the lack of time…
it’s pretty much been like a million years since I have written anything here about the goings on in my life. to tell the truth I have just been too busy. I started a new job. nothing fancy, nothing glamorous. but it’s easy and it’s close to home. plus, I work only four hours a day
“hrm…only four hours a day and and you still don’t have time to write?” you say? well lets not forget, I have a little toddler running around the house now. oh right, T-Rex had a birthday two months ago did I tell you? and since then, he has grown a foot a day. I’m constantly running after him (whether it’s playing or just picking up after him) and it’s quite the workout.

and the school year has started so The Husband is back at work now. they moved him to a new grade and threw on an extra subject to teach. the joy! but he’s been really optimistic about the new year. what else what else…oh! I think I hate chicken meat now. don’t tell my brother, the president of the I Love Chicken club, he’d probably disown me. I prefer tofu now (not the stinky kind).
well besides all of that and the usual shenanigan that we find ourselves getting into, there’s nothing new.
